For as long as one remember, presenters at award shows would always say,” And the winner is…..” A few years ago, that all changed when a presenter said,”And the award goes to…” That was the most remarkable factor that ever happened at the awards show. As cliche as it sounds, to be nominated, in fact, to have an exciting opportunity to complete a project nevertheless if one receive an award or not is an impressive accomplishment! Saturday, January 29, Sundance 2011 announced their awards.Congratulations to Bradford Young for “Excellence in Cinematography Award, Dramatic” for Pariah. It is no surprise that this brilliant cinematographer took home the award. He is best known for award-winning films such as, 2009 film, Mississippi Damned , written by Tina Mabry and Produced by, Morgan Stiff, one of CINEMATIQ’s TALENTED TEN PRODUCERS of Independent film to follow in 2011. Young also worked on BET documentary, WOMEN IN HIP-HOP directed by Ava DuVernay, also a part of the TALENTED TEN PRODUCERS of Independent Film To Follow in 2011. Lastly, Pariah the short and most recently feature length film by the same title.
